                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Throughout a long and rewarding career as a
    1-2  cosmetology instructor, Erma Kocurek has demonstrated exemplary
    1-3  dedication to her chosen profession and in so doing has earned the
    1-4  respect of her colleagues and received well-deserved recognition
    1-5  for her contributions to the field of cosmetology; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, A member of the Houston Community College faculty,
    1-7  Mrs. Kocurek has enjoyed sharing her experience and expertise with
    1-8  young students at Kashmere High School and has had the pleasure of
    1-9  seeing many of her former students go on to achieve success in
   1-10  their own careers as professional cosmetologists; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The success many of these professionals have enjoyed
   1-12  is attributable not only to the excellent preparation they received
   1-13  as Mrs. Kocurek's students but to the inspiration they have drawn
   1-14  from her example of complete professional dedication and her pride
   1-15  in her work; and
   1-16        WHEREAS,  Beginning in August 1971 with her receipt of a
   1-17  certificate of participation from the William Knox University
   1-18  Continuing Education Center, her career has been a continuing story
   1-19  of constant striving to further her professional development; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, In February 1988, she received a certificate from
   1-21  the Sam Houston State University College of Education and Applied
   1-22  Science for completing the course of instruction in Basic
   1-23  Pedagogical Competencies; and
   1-24        WHEREAS, In July 1988 she was duly honored by the Texas
    2-1  Cosmetology Commission, which presented her with a certificate
    2-2  citing her outstanding service and professional contributions in a
    2-3  field test program; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, Continuing to make a name for herself as a
    2-5  consummate cosmetologist, Mrs. Kocurek successfully completed an
    2-6  advanced training program that furthered her professional growth in
    2-7  November 1988; and
    2-8        WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Kocurek has served as
    2-9  an example of professional dedication worthy of emulation by all in
   2-10  her field, and her achievements in this regard are indeed deserving
   2-11  of special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   2-12        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   2-13  Legislature hereby commend Erma Kocurek for her exemplary
   2-14  professional dedication and her contributions to the field of
   2-15  cosmetology; and, be it further
   2-16        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-17  prepared for Mrs. Kocurek as an expression of high esteem by the
   2-18  Texas House of Representatives.
