No. 336 73R5802 SRD-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 1-2 who have shared 50 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a 1-3 memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Homer Andrews, Jr., and his beloved wife, Jewell, 1-5 recently commemorated one such special occasion in their lives when 1-6 they were joined by their family and friends at a special luncheon 1-7 and reception held in the home of their son and daughter-in-law to 1-8 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Andrews were joined in holy matrimony 1-10 in the community of Electra on February 21, 1943; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Since that time, their marriage has been blessed 1-12 with three fine children, Barry Andrews and Homer Andrews III, both 1-13 of Corpus Christi, and Judy Davis of Riverside, California, each of 1-14 whom has benefited from the unfailing love and guidance provided by 1-15 their parents; over the years, their family has continued to grow 1-16 and the couple now enjoys a close and loving relationship with 1-17 their six grandchildren, Erin and Scott Davis and Allison, Hollis, 1-18 Natalie, and Blake Andrews; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Andrews make their home in Corpus 1-20 Christi, where they are active members of the community and have 1-21 earned the lasting regard and affection of their many friends and 1-22 neighbors; and 1-23 WHEREAS, For 50 years, Homer and Jewell Andrews have shared a 1-24 strong and lasting marriage filled with many happy times and 2-1 cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of mutual 2-2 love, trust, and support, their life together has been a source of 2-3 joy and inspiration for all who have been privileged to know them; 2-4 now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 2-6 Legislature hereby congratulate Homer and Jewell Andrews on the 2-7 joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend 2-8 warmest best wishes to them for many years of continued happiness; 2-9 and, be it further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Andrews as an expression of high regard 2-12 by the Texas House of Representatives.
