H.R. No. 355
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The death of Winnie Cole Norwood on January 19,
    1-2  1993, has brought a great loss to the many friends and relatives of
    1-3  this fine Texan; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A resident of Terrell and Mesquite, Mrs. Norwood
    1-5  will be fondly remembered in those communities as a devoted wife, a
    1-6  loving mother, and a loyal friend; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, She married Morris Norwood and enjoyed a warm and
    1-8  deeply fulfilling union which was blessed with the birth of a
    1-9  beloved daughter; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, In addition to providing a warm and loving home to
   1-11  her family, Mrs. Norwood worked with her husband in operating the
   1-12  Terrell Municipal Airport for 15 years and was well-regarded
   1-13  throughout the community for her many years of work with Baylor
   1-14  Hospital; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, She led a full and active life and enjoyed pursuing
   1-16  a variety of interests with her husband; the couple offered
   1-17  airplane rides to the public, collecting the proceeds for charity,
   1-18  and enjoyed travelling across the country by motorcycle; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, An energetic and happy woman, Mrs. Norwood also
   1-20  enjoyed the close friendships she formed through her life
   1-21  membership with the Eastern Star; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, The qualities that endeared her to many emanated
   1-23  from her deep and abiding faith, which she expressed as a devout
   1-24  member of the First United Methodist Church in Mesquite; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Throughout her life, this exceptional woman touched
    2-2  the lives of many people and, though her presence will be deeply
    2-3  missed, her memory will endure in the hearts of those who came to
    2-4  know and love her; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Winnie Cole Norwood
    2-7  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:  to her
    2-8  husband, Morris Norwood; to her daughter, Elaine Hudson; to her
    2-9  three grandsons, Neal Burt, James Burt, and Mike Burt; to her five
   2-10  great-grandchildren; and to the other members of her family; and,
   2-11  be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-13  for the members of her family and that when the Texas House of
   2-14  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Winnie
   2-15  Cole Norwood.
