H.R. No. 359
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The week of March 7-13, 1993, holds special
    1-2  significance in the life of Jose Maria Emeterio Avila Alonzo, for
    1-3  during this week he will celebrate his first birthday and his holy
    1-4  baptism; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, "Chemita," as he is known to his family and many
    1-6  admirers, was born on March 9, 1992, at St. Paul's Medical Center
    1-7  in Dallas and weighed in at an impressive 9 pounds, 7 ounces, at
    1-8  the time of his birth; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The youngest of the three Alonzo children, he is the
   1-10  son of our esteemed colleague, the Honorable Roberto R. Alonzo, and
   1-11  his lovely wife, Sylvana Avila, both of whom take great pride in
   1-12  their precocious son, who took his first steps at nine months of
   1-13  age; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Jose will be baptized at St. Cecilia Catholic Church
   1-15  on March 7, 1993, in the presence of his loving godparents, Mario
   1-16  Casarez, a longtime friend of the family who drove Ms. Avila to the
   1-17  hospital when she went into labor, and Glenda Lizette Avila, the
   1-18  baby's devoted aunt; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Blessed with a wealth of doting family members and a
   1-20  wide circle of friends, Jose can indeed look forward to a bright
   1-21  and promising future; as his birthday and baptism approach, it is
   1-22  appropriate that he receive special legislative recognition to
   1-23  commemorate these significant milestones in his life; now,
   1-24  therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-2  Legislature hereby congratulate Jose Maria Emeterio Avila Alonzo on
    2-3  the joyous occasion of his first birthday and baptism; and, be it
    2-4  further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-6  prepared for Jose and his parents as an expression of high regard
    2-7  by the Texas House of Representatives.
