No. 371 73R4430 PAN-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Marie Wehby will celebrate her 100th birthday on 1-2 April 4, 1993, and to her many delighted friends and relatives this 1-3 event promises to be a truly joyous and memorable occasion; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born April 4, 1893, in Indian Territory that would 1-5 one day become Oklahoma, Mrs. Wehby later moved to Texas and 1-6 settled in Taylor, where she and her husband, the late M. J. Wehby, 1-7 ran a dry goods store for many years; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Over the course of their marriage, the Wehbys became 1-9 the parents of two fine children, John and Anne, and this devoted 1-10 woman still enjoys cooking and maintaining a home for her loved 1-11 ones to this day; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mrs. Wehby continues to inspire all who know her 1-13 with her energy and enthusiasm, staying active in work with the 1-14 Altar Society and other organizations in St. Mary's Catholic 1-15 Church, giving generously of her time to sell poppies when the 1-16 American Legion Auxiliary holds its annual poppy day fund-raiser, 1-17 and wrapping packages for patients in the Veterans Administration 1-18 Hospital in Temple each Christmas; and 1-19 WHEREAS, In addition, Mrs. Wehby served for more than three 1-20 decades as a chaplain for the American Legion Auxiliary; and 1-21 WHEREAS, The birthday of this beloved lady provides a fitting 1-22 opportunity for her family and friends to share with her a small 1-23 bit of the joy and hope she has imparted to all who have had the 1-24 privilege to share her love throughout the years; now, therefore, 2-1 be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd 2-3 Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Marie Wehby on the momentous 2-4 occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best 2-5 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for Mrs. Wehby as an expression of high regard by the 2-8 Texas House of Representatives.
