H.R. No. 392
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Angie Sisk of Houston was crowned Miss Texas U.S.A.
    1-2  on July 21, 1992, in Corpus Christi; and
    1-3        WHEREAS, The daughter of Jack and Melba Sisk of Houston, the
    1-4  vivacious 26-year-old blonde also was selected as "Swimsuit Winner"
    1-5  and "Miss Photogenic," and is the only contestant in pageant
    1-6  history to win these three honors in the same year; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Continuing a tradition of excellence for contestants
    1-8  from the Lone Star State, this lovely young woman reached the
    1-9  semifinal round of the Miss U.S.A. Pageant held on February 19,
   1-10  1993; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A graduate of Taylor High School in Houston, where
   1-12  she also was homecoming queen and "Miss Taylor High School,"
   1-13  Ms. Sisk continued her education at Southwest Texas State
   1-14  University and Houston Baptist University and, after completing her
   1-15  reign as Miss Texas U.S.A., plans to complete her degree in
   1-16  education; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, A warm and giving individual, this outstanding young
   1-18  woman takes special pleasure in enhancing the lives of children
   1-19  through education, and she also enjoys aerobics, sports, modeling,
   1-20  and dancing; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, Since being crowned Miss Texas U.S.A., Ms. Sisk has
   1-22  hosted numerous events for such charitable causes as cystic
   1-23  fibrosis research, Special Olympics, and rainforest preservation;
   1-24  and
    2-1        WHEREAS, With her outstanding grace and charm, this Houston
    2-2  beauty will continue to provide exemplary representation for our
    2-3  state throughout the remainder of her year-long reign as Miss Texas
    2-4  U.S.A., and it is appropriate that she be given special legislative
    2-5  recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-7  Legislature hereby congratulate Angie Sisk on being named Miss
    2-8  Texas U.S.A. and extend to her best wishes for continued success in
    2-9  the future; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-11  prepared for Ms. Sisk as an expression of high regard by the Texas
   2-12  House of Representatives.
