No. 423 73R6878 KMP-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Boys and Girls Club organizations of Bryan and 1-2 College Station will soon recognize National Boys and Girls Club 1-3 Week, an observance celebrating the accomplishments of thousands of 1-4 clubs, as well as hundreds of thousands of children, around the 1-5 country; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The Bryan, Beck Street, and Lincoln Center clubs, 1-7 located in the Bryan-College Station area, provide services to more 1-8 than 1,400 deserving young people each year; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Dedicated to helping Texas youths achieve their 1-10 dreams of a better future, the Boys and Girls Clubs are at the 1-11 forefront of community efforts to promote education and to prevent 1-12 substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and delinquency; and 1-13 WHEREAS, In addition to offering children and teens a safe 1-14 haven from the pressures and dangers of urban life, these clubs 1-15 help youths to develop a positive attitude and a strong sense of 1-16 self-esteem; and 1-17 WHEREAS, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Bryan and College 1-18 Station have contributed greatly to improving the lives of many 1-19 local children and teens, and their accomplishments are indeed 1-20 worthy of special legislative recognition and support; now, 1-21 therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby commend the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bryan and 1-24 College Station for their many outstanding efforts on behalf of 2-1 local youths and recognize March 22 through March 28, 1993, as 2-2 National Boys and Girls Club Week in Texas; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared 2-4 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bryan and College Station as an 2-5 expression of highest esteem from the Texas House of 2-6 Representatives.
