                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Students from Rogers Middle School have achieved
    1-2  outstanding success in University Interscholastic League (UIL)
    1-3  academic competition; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, In the recent district meet held at Davis Middle
    1-5  School, representatives of Rogers Middle School performed
    1-6  admirably, taking 17 places; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Rogers Middle School students who placed in the top
    1-8  three in their events included Allison Barker, first place in
    1-9  listening skills; Sam Barbosa, third place in listening skills;
   1-10  Henry Chu, first place in calculator; Mario Cantu, first place in
   1-11  dictionary skills; Robert Davis, first place in maps, graphs,
   1-12  charts; and Nick Bean, second place in ready writing; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Performing at the highest level in UIL competition
   1-14  takes not only the sharpest of young minds but also countless hours
   1-15  of study and preparation, and these dedicated students exemplify
   1-16  the pursuit of academic excellence; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Students representing Rogers Middle School have
   1-18  achieved outstanding success in UIL competition and are a credit to
   1-19  that fine institution, and it is indeed appropriate that they be
   1-20  given special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby congratulate the students from Rogers Middle
   1-23  School who have excelled in this demanding UIL academic competition
   1-24  and extend to them best wishes for continued success in the future;
    2-1  and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
    2-3  for these exemplary Rogers Middle School students as an expression
    2-4  of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
