                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Stacy Santiesteban-Salinas recently achieved the
    1-2  first victory of her two-year-old racing career, winning the
    1-3  grueling 12.4-mile Trans Mountain Run in 1 hour and 28 minutes; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Distance running is among the most demanding of
    1-5  sports, severely testing the athlete's physical and emotional
    1-6  mettle, and success is achieved only by the most dedicated and
    1-7  disciplined competitors in the field; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Ms. Santiesteban-Salinas is an inspiration for
    1-9  single working mothers everywhere, maintaining an intensive
   1-10  training regimen in addition to raising three children on her own
   1-11  and pursuing her career as the customer service director for
   1-12  Packard Electric; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, The daughter of Senator Tati Santiesteban, this
   1-14  extraordinary athlete believes strongly in the social, emotional,
   1-15  and physical benefits of exercise for all, and her commitment to
   1-16  achieving personal excellence in her sport serves as a shining
   1-17  example for all Texans; now, therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-19  Legislature hereby commend Stacy Santiesteban-Salinas on her
   1-20  outstanding performance and victory in the 15th Annual Trans
   1-21  Mountain Run and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
   1-22  success in the upcoming Boston Marathon; and, be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-24  prepared for Ms. Santiesteban-Salinas as an expression of highest
    2-1  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
