No. 444 73R7202 BNL-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The members of the Texas House of Representatives 1-2 are proud to join the many friends and relatives of Patricia 1-3 Bonilla in wishing this lovely young lady a very happy 13th 1-4 birthday; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A native of Corpus Christi, Miss Bonilla is the 1-6 daughter of Ruben Bonilla, Jr., and Dr. Rosalinda Sosa-Bonilla and 1-7 the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julio Sosa; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Miss Bonilla's parents and grandparents have taken 1-9 great pride and delight in her many accomplishments, and she has 1-10 enjoyed a loving and supportive family life that includes the 1-11 companionship of her two brothers, Ruben Antonio and William 1-12 Gregory, and her sister, Laura Lisa; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Currently a seventh grader at Baker Middle School, 1-14 Miss Bonilla participates in the Athena Honors Program and is 1-15 involved in numerous activities; her main interests are sports, 1-16 dance, and music, and she has shown great talent in each of these 1-17 areas; and 1-18 WHEREAS, By developing her natural athletic ability with 1-19 hours of practice and dedication, Miss Bonilla has become a valued 1-20 member of both the Santa Fe Strikers soccer team, coached by Diane 1-21 Meak and Patty Madro, and the Rim Fire city league basketball team, 1-22 coached by Joe Sanchez; in addition, this remarkable young athlete 1-23 benefits from the camaraderie of her fellow classmates as a member 1-24 of the Baker Broncs basketball team, which is coached by Rita 2-1 Battista; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Despite the demanding training schedule for these 2-3 athletic endeavors, Miss Bonilla still finds time and energy to 2-4 devote to her jazz dance lessons at The Dance Studio; under the 2-5 guidance of dance teacher Sandra Jones, she is developing a 2-6 graceful, artistic form of physical expression to complement and 2-7 enhance her athletic abilities; and 2-8 WHEREAS, Miss Bonilla further expresses her artistic talent 2-9 through music; she takes piano lessons from Ann Marie 2-10 Sandoval-Barrera and gains experience in musical performance with 2-11 her school orchestra, which is conducted by Jim Houston; and 2-12 WHEREAS, Blessed with a natural charm and a warm personality, 2-13 Miss Bonilla is a delightful young lady who has brightened the 2-14 lives of all who know her; her outstanding academic, athletic, and 2-15 musical achievements truly distinguish her among her peers, and 2-16 with such a wide array of talent, her future success is virtually 2-17 assured; now, therefore, be it 2-18 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 2-19 Legislature hereby congratulate Miss Patricia Bonilla on the 2-20 occasion of her 13th birthday and extend to her warmest best wishes 2-21 for many more years of success and happiness; and, be it further 2-22 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-23 forwarded to Miss Bonilla as an expression of high regard by the 2-24 Texas House of Representatives.
