H.R. No. 451 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas 1-2 is pleased to pay tribute to William E. Juett of Amarillo for his 1-3 outstanding leadership and contribution to his community; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Bill Juett graduated from Amarillo High School in 1-5 1946 and later received a B.S. degree in education from Texas 1-6 Christian University in 1950; and 1-7 WHEREAS, After graduation he worked in the Division 1-8 Engineering Department of Southwestern Public Service in Amarillo 1-9 for two years before becoming an instructor for the Department of 1-10 the Air Force at Amarillo Air Force Base for five years; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Bill spent the next 35 years until retirement in the 1-12 electrical supply business as a salesman and manufacturer's 1-13 representative; and 1-14 WHEREAS, He married Miss Jane Flesher in 1946, and the happy 1-15 couple will celebrate their 47th year together on June 14, 1993; 1-16 and 1-17 WHEREAS, Bill and Jane Juett are the proud parents of three 1-18 children, William Dana Juett married to Gwynne Underwood, Melissa 1-19 Juett Kalka married to Ray Kalka, and James Andrew Juett married to 1-20 Donna Paetzel; and 1-21 WHEREAS, The grandchildren of the Juetts include Will and 1-22 Katherine Juett, Cameron, Coleman, and Chase Kalka, and Karlee, 1-23 Jacob, and Kristen Juett; and 2-1 WHEREAS, Bill Juett's civic activities include years of 2-2 working with youth as a cubmaster and scoutmaster, coaching 2-3 children in various sports organizations; and 2-4 WHEREAS, He has served as a member of Amarillo's Planning and 2-5 Zoning Commission, the Amarillo Traffic Commission, the 2-6 Potter-Randall Appraisal District Board of Directors, the Amarillo 2-7 Volunteer Action Committee, and the Amarillo Little Theatre Board; 2-8 and 2-9 WHEREAS, Currently he serves on the Texas Aviation Historical 2-10 Society Board and is a member of the City of Amarillo Storm 2-11 Management Advisory Committee; and 2-12 WHEREAS, Politically he has been an active Republican since 2-13 1952, serving as a precinct chairman and later as Potter County 2-14 chairman beginning in 1983; and 2-15 WHEREAS, Bill is in his third term as state treasurer for the 2-16 Texas Republican County Chairman Association and has attended every 2-17 state Republican Convention since 1972; now, therefore, be it 2-18 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of 2-19 Texas, 73rd Legislature, hereby commend William E. Juett for his 2-20 immeasurable contributions to the citizens of Amarillo and the 2-21 State of Texas; and, be it further 2-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for Bill 2-23 Juett as an expression of high regard and esteem from the Texas 2-24 House of Representatives. 2-25 Smithee 3-1 Swinford 3-2 Smithee
