No. 453 73R7387 BNL-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Carolyn Ross Bailey was accorded a great honor on 1-2 March 28, 1993, when the El Tex Temple No. 636, an associated 1-3 Temple of Gibraltor Elks Lodge No. 500, recognized her with its 1-4 "Mother Dearest" award; and 1-5 WHEREAS, One of the most prestigious awards given by this 1-6 chapter of the International Benevolent and Protective Order of the 1-7 Elks of the World, the "Mother Dearest" award is given to those 1-8 women who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and loyalty to 1-9 this distinguished organization; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The members of the El Tex Temple include this 1-11 memorable awards ceremony as part of their annual Pre-Mothers Day 1-12 Celebration, which pays tribute to those special women who choose 1-13 to dedicate their lives and service to their families, their 1-14 communities, and their churches; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Ms. Bailey, a dedicated Daughter and Financial 1-16 Secretary of El Tex Temple No. 636, was honored for her 1-17 exceptional loyalty and service to the Temple; she was one of five 1-18 women honored this year for their outstanding contributions to this 1-19 order; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Today's women must constantly redefine their roles 1-21 in society to meet the changing demands of modern life and to 1-22 fulfill the many diverse responsibilities that are assigned to them 1-23 as mothers, wives, daughters, and citizens; the women selected to 1-24 receive the "Mother Dearest" award are truly deserving of this 2-1 special recognition because they have successfully balanced the 2-2 many challenges of their lives with grace, charm, and good humor, 2-3 and in doing so, they are an inspiration to all who know them; now, 2-4 therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 2-6 Legislature hereby honor Carolyn Ross Bailey for receiving the 2-7 "Mother Dearest" award, one of the highest forms of recognition 2-8 given by the El Tex Temple No. 636, and extend to her warmest best 2-9 wishes for many more years of continued success and happiness; and, 2-10 be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 forwarded to Ms. Bailey as an expression of high regard by the 2-13 Texas House of Representatives.
