H.R. No. 484
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  the Hispanic Association for Culture and Education for its
    1-3  exceptional contributions in organizing the Youth Educational
    1-4  Success Forum, which is held in Grand Prairie each year; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging
    1-6  and assisting students with their pursuit of a postsecondary
    1-7  education, the organization has done an outstanding job of bringing
    1-8  together a wide variety of knowledgeable professionals to
    1-9  participate in the annual Youth Educational Success Forum; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Highlights of this year's forum will include
   1-11  discussion on such important topics as careers for the 21st
   1-12  century, communications, drugs and the influence of peer pressure,
   1-13  leadership styles and goal setting, and survival on today's college
   1-14  campuses; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Since its founding in May 1987, the Hispanic
   1-16  Association for Culture and Education also has awarded 48
   1-17  scholarships to deserving Grand Prairie students and promoted an
   1-18  increased awareness and respect for Hispanic culture in the
   1-19  community through its support of such popular programs as Ballet
   1-20  Folklorico; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, This fine organization has made it possible for many
   1-22  young Texans to expand their horizons through their achievement of
   1-23  a higher education and it is indeed deserving of special
   1-24  legislative recognition for its continuing contributions in this
    2-1  regard; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-3  Legislature hereby congratulate the Hispanic Association for
    2-4  Culture and Education on the occasion of its second annual Youth
    2-5  Educational Success Forum and commend this remarkable organization
    2-6  for the many significant contributions it has made to the
    2-7  betterment of its community and state; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-9  prepared for the Hispanic Association for Culture and Education as
   2-10  an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
