                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Officer Terry Lynn Lewis of the Arlington Police
    1-2  Department died in the line of duty on October 9, 1992, and his
    1-3  untimely death was a tragic loss to his family, to his fellow peace
    1-4  officers, and to the entire community; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, This inspirational individual exemplified in his
    1-6  personal and professional conduct the virtues of courage,
    1-7  integrity, and unwavering dedication; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Throughout his nine months on the force, Officer
    1-9  Lewis's record was one of meritorious service, loyalty, personal
   1-10  bravery, and self-sacrifice consistent with the high ideals of the
   1-11  law enforcement profession; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, A devoted husband and father, he was supported in
   1-13  all his endeavors by his beloved wife, Kris, and by his children,
   1-14  Becky, Anne, and Nina; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The men and women who serve their fellow Texans in
   1-16  the field of law enforcement are a singular group of public
   1-17  servants who willingly risk their own lives daily to provide
   1-18  protection for their communities; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, In the finest tradition of the law enforcement
   1-20  profession, this fine young officer was a man of tremendous
   1-21  compassion whose unfailing sense of duty reflected a deep
   1-22  commitment to the welfare of others; though his life has been cut
   1-23  tragically short, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who
   1-24  were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-2  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Officer Terry Lynn
    2-3  Lewis of the Arlington Police Department and extend deepest
    2-4  sympathy to his wife, Kris; to his daughters, Becky, Anne, and
    2-5  Nina; to his father, Lindy; to his brother, Tony; and to the many
    2-6  friends and relatives of this exceptional man; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-8  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
    2-9  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-10  Officer Terry Lynn Lewis.
