                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The death of a peace officer in the line of duty is
    1-2  a tragic loss to the entire state, and the Texas House of
    1-3  Representatives joins with the family, friends, and colleagues of
    1-4  Reserve Officer Jerry Crocker in mourning the untimely death of
    1-5  this exemplary public servant on October 9, 1992; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, A highly respected member of the Arlington Police
    1-7  Department, Officer Crocker exemplified in his personal and
    1-8  professional conduct the singular virtues of courage, integrity,
    1-9  and unwavering commitment; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Throughout his 13 months on the force, this
   1-11  extraordinary Texan demonstrated the meritorious service, loyalty,
   1-12  personal bravery, and self-sacrifice consistent with the high
   1-13  ideals of the law enforcement profession; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, His legacy of heroic dedication and self-sacrifice
   1-15  will endure, and although his presence is gone from us now, Officer
   1-16  Crocker will continue to be a source of inspiration to his fellow
   1-17  peace officers who pursue this noble and difficult profession; now,
   1-18  therefore, be it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-20  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Reserve Officer Jerry
   1-21  Crocker of the Arlington Police Department and extend profound
   1-22  sympathy to the members of his family:  to his wife, Erin; to his
   1-23  daughters, Erin, Amy, and Jeri; to his parents, Johnnie and Mattie;
   1-24  to his brother, Royce; to his sisters, Joyce and Judy; and to his
    2-1  many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-3  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
    2-4  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
    2-5  Officer Jerry Crocker.
