H.R. No. 497 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The business of state government during a 1-2 legislative session is a difficult, demanding, and time-consuming 1-3 endeavor that means long hours and requires extraordinary patience, 1-4 not only from those directly engaged in lawmaking, but also from 1-5 spouses and families who must endure the prolonged absences of 1-6 their loved ones; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Stephanie Gant-Nieto has demonstrated exemplary 1-8 patience and perseverance in maintaining both a career and a busy 1-9 household while her husband has been fully occupied by the pressing 1-10 demands facing the Texas Legislature; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Her devotion has enabled her husband to attend to 1-12 matters before this chamber with the utmost dedication, free of 1-13 distracting worry and anxiety and secure in the knowledge that the 1-14 home front is in the extremely capable hands of his loving and 1-15 supportive spouse; and 1-16 WHEREAS, With a total of four children, Kira, Kevin, Kayla, 1-17 and energetic one-year-old Kaleb, to care for, Mrs. Gant-Nieto has 1-18 had ample opportunity to exercise the household management skills, 1-19 the loving guidance and support, and the warm nurturing that keep 1-20 the family together as one, happy in both body and spirit; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Her success in balancing all of the needs and 1-22 demands of a full-size family, which is a difficult feat in the 1-23 best of circumstances, is made even more remarkable by the fact 1-24 that she combines her roles as wife and mother with an equally 2-1 challenging role as a professional businesswoman by managing a home 2-2 health care office at the same time; and 2-3 WHEREAS, In this regard, Mrs. Gant-Nieto has set a sterling 2-4 example of selflessness, efficiency, and abiding concern for the 2-5 well-being of others that serves to inspire not only her husband 2-6 but all of us engaged in the conduct of state affairs; it is the 2-7 desire, then, of all the members of this body to join our colleague 2-8 State Representative Pedro Nieto in recognizing Mrs. Gant-Nieto and 2-9 to express our appreciation for her unwavering support during this 2-10 legislative session; now, therefore, be it 2-11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 2-12 Legislature hereby honor Stephanie Gant-Nieto on her exceptional 2-13 devotion and patience, which in an important way have contributed 2-14 to the governance of this state during the current legislative 2-15 session; and, be it further 2-16 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-17 prepared for Mrs. Gant-Nieto as an expression of the high esteem in 2-18 which she is held by her husband's colleagues in the Texas House of 2-19 Representatives. 2-20 Representatives. 2-21 Nieto 2-22 H.R.
