H.R. No. 503
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas
    1-2  is pleased to pay tribute to Josie Ham Feltz on the occasion of her
    1-3  100th birthday on April 4, 1993; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Josie was born to S. D. and Mary Ida Haynie Ham in
    1-5  Somervell County, Texas, on April 4, 1893; being one of 10
    1-6  children, with four sisters and five brothers, Josie and her
    1-7  brother Henry Ham now live in Dumas; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Josie married John Henderson Feltz, a farmer and
    1-9  rancher, in 1909 at the age of 16 and moved to Moore County to
   1-10  live; she and her husband had a farm 15 miles southwest of Dumas,
   1-11  Texas, and when Josie moved in as a new bride, her new home was a
   1-12  half dugout; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Josie and John had three children, Charles, who now
   1-14  lives in California, Phillip, who now lives in Amarillo, and
   1-15  Florence, who is deceased; Josie is also the proud grandmother of
   1-16  five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and at least seven
   1-17  great-great-grandchildren; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Josie now happily resides at Memorial Nursing and
   1-19  Rehabilitation Center in Dumas, Texas; now, therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
   1-21  Texas, 73rd Legislature, hereby recognize Josie Ham Feltz on the
   1-22  occasion of her 100th birthday and for her long and prosperous
   1-23  life; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for
    2-2  Mrs. Feltz as an expression of high regard and esteem from the
    2-3  Texas House of Representatives.
