                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  the 1993 Snook Lady Jays girls' basketball team on its outstanding
    1-3  record of athletic achievement; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, The tri-champions of District 52A, the Lady Jays
    1-5  persevered through a difficult 1992-1993 season to capture a share
    1-6  of the district title and to close with yet another winning record;
    1-7  and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The 1993 team has maintained the proud tradition of
    1-9  excellence enjoyed by the Snook Independent School District
   1-10  basketball program for 43 years, during which the Lady Jays have
   1-11  racked up 39 winning seasons; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, On January 12, 1993, this talented group of athletes
   1-13  achieved a special milestone, the 900th win for Snook girls'
   1-14  basketball; with this team's strong performance at the end of the
   1-15  1992-1993 season, the Lady Jays program now boasts an overall
   1-16  record of 906 victories and 391 losses; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Earning the respect and admiration of all those in
   1-18  their school and community and demonstrating a rare commitment to
   1-19  teamwork and athletic excellence, the members of this exceptional
   1-20  team include Amy Horn, Becky See, Meri Rubach, Letisha McKee,
   1-21  Shayna Vajdak, Comeka Swain, Chaffin Munson, Amber Jaster, LaTosha
   1-22  Nix, Kathryn Kovar, Alysha Neumann, and Tabrisha Conerway; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Guidance and encouragement were provided by head
   1-24  coach Leslie Yezak and her assistant Lori McClung, and they were
    2-1  ably supported throughout the season by team managers Ronda Kalb,
    2-2  Kim Bickly, and Jennifer Yezak, whose tireless enthusiasm helped
    2-3  lead the team to its numerous victories; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, A source of great inspiration to the students,
    2-5  parents, faculty, and other members of the Snook community, these
    2-6  extraordinary young women, as well as their staff and coaches, are
    2-7  indeed deserving of special legislative commendation; now,
    2-8  therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   2-10  Legislature hereby honor head coach Leslie Yezak and the members of
   2-11  the Snook Lady Jays girls' basketball team for their many notable
   2-12  achievements during the 1992-1993 season; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-14  for the team members, managers, and coaches and that a copy be
   2-15  prepared for prominent display at Snook High School as an
   2-16  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
