                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Pasadena High School boys' basketball team
    1-2  distinguished itself during the 1992-1993 season, posting a superb
    1-3  record of 26 wins against only seven defeats; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, This outstanding group of young athletes, unified by
    1-5  an unquenchable desire for victory and a strong team concept,
    1-6  completed district play with a record of 12-2, to lay claim to the
    1-7  District 23-5A crown; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Advancing to the boys' basketball postseason
    1-9  playoffs, the Pasadena High School Eagles continued their winning
   1-10  ways, earning a well-deserved area championship; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The season's outstanding accomplishments were a
   1-12  result of dedicated efforts throughout the season by team members
   1-13  Tony Sanchez, Dudley Hughes, Arturo Zuniga, Eddie Tatum, Shannon
   1-14  Spencer, Rhent Mitchell, James Black, Joe Hall, Dante Tucker, and
   1-15  Jesse Vasquez; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Inspiration and firm leadership were the hallmarks
   1-17  of head coach Phil Eaton as he guided the Eagles to victory, and he
   1-18  was ably supported by assistant coaches David Ward and Todd
   1-19  Hiebert, who helped mold the team into a consistent winner; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Other invaluable off-the-court assistance was
   1-21  provided by trainer Bill Hale, student trainer Stephanie Manning,
   1-22  managers Mandy Burgett and Jose Martinez, and statistician Wynn
   1-23  Wittmer; and
   1-24        WHEREAS, This exemplary group of young men and their coaches
    2-1  and staff have been a tremendous source of pride for the students
    2-2  and faculty at Pasadena High School and their many supporters in
    2-3  the community, and their exceptional achievements rightfully have
    2-4  earned them special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby congratulate head coach Phil Eaton and the
    2-7  Pasadena High School Eagles on their District 23-5A and area
    2-8  basketball championships and extend to them best wishes for
    2-9  continued success in the future; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-11  for the members of the team and the coaching staff and that a copy
   2-12  be prepared for prominent display at Pasadena High School as an
   2-13  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
