H.R. No. 530 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Ms. Lynda F. Scoblick and the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce for their 1-3 many outstanding contributions to the betterment of the 1-4 Cypress-Fairbanks community; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Ms. Scoblick is a 1983 graduate of the South Texas 1-6 College of Law and enjoys a successful and deeply rewarding career 1-7 in the legal profession as a practitioner of general civil law; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Widely respected by her colleagues for her 1-9 knowledge, dedication, and utmost professionalism, she has served 1-10 with distinction as a member of the fee dispute committee of the 1-11 Houston Bar Association, where she has contributed keen and 1-12 thoughtful insight, and is a valued member of the Charter Bank 1-13 Women's Business Forum as well; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Ms. Scoblick has also distinguished herself through 1-15 her tenure as chairwoman of the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Founded in 1986 to represent the needs of the local 1-17 business community, the chamber has grown to adopt a regional 1-18 focus, addressing a diverse array of family-related, educational, 1-19 commercial, and industrial interests in its 186 square mile 1-20 territory; and 1-21 WHEREAS, The chamber's many standing committees play a vital 1-22 role in the Cypress-Fairbanks community; working with the 1-23 Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District to integrate the 1-24 business community into the classroom setting, the chamber has 2-1 helped to broaden the educational opportunities of our state's 2-2 future leaders; and 2-3 WHEREAS, In addition to these fine efforts, the organization 2-4 seeks to offer chamber members a supportive environment, providing 2-5 opportunities for personal and corporate growth; and 2-6 WHEREAS, The chamber is also well known for the many popular 2-7 community events it sponsors, including the annual "A Taste of 2-8 Texas" festival, held in October; and 2-9 WHEREAS, The Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce and its chairwoman, 2-10 Lynda F. Scoblick, have tirelessly worked for the betterment of 2-11 business and community interests throughout the Cypress-Fairbanks 2-12 area, and their exceptional efforts truly merit special legislative 2-13 recognition; now, therefore, be it 2-14 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 2-15 Legislature hereby honor the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce and its 2-16 chairwoman Lynda F. Scoblick for their outstanding community 2-17 service; and, be it further 2-18 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared 2-19 for Ms. Scoblick and for the chamber as an expression of high 2-20 regard by the Texas House of Representatives. 2-21 Hilbert 2-22 A.
