No. 539 73R8579 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The third annual Canterbury Faire will be held at 1-2 Waterloo Park in Austin on April 17 and 18, 1993; and 1-3 WHEREAS, This eagerly anticipated celebration provides a gala 1-4 renaissance ambiance for fun and merriment, including troubadours, 1-5 minstrels, jugglers, acrobats, singers, dancers, handcrafts, 1-6 authentic exhibitions of medieval skills, a children's theater, and 1-7 hearty offerings of food and drink; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Numerous volunteers labor tirelessly to ensure the 1-9 Faire's success, and the proceeds help to support the Wild Basin 1-10 Wilderness Preserve, a privately funded and predominantly privately 1-11 supported nature preserve; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve greatly enhances 1-13 the quality of life for capital-area residents, fostering a greater 1-14 understanding of and appreciation for the natural wonders with 1-15 which the state has been blessed; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Providing a unique and enjoyable atmosphere for its 1-17 delighted attendees, the Canterbury Faire contributes much-needed 1-18 support to the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, and it is indeed 1-19 appropriate that this outstanding event be given special 1-20 legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 1-22 Legislature hereby commend the cosponsors of the Canterbury Faire, 1-23 the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve and the city of Austin, and 1-24 extend to them best wishes for outstanding success on the occasion 2-1 of their third annual fund-raising event; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve as an expression of 2-4 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
