H.R. No. 542
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, To meet the increasingly complex demands of a world
    1-2  economy, businesses must rely on administrative support personnel
    1-3  able to master the technological skills and knowledge required to
    1-4  move commerce and industry forward into the future; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, These dedicated workers must adapt to a never-ending
    1-6  stream of new systems and processes as computers, telephone
    1-7  systems, fax machines, and other technological wonders evolve to
    1-8  meet the needs of business in the information age; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Two Houston businesses, ENRON Corporation and EDS,
   1-10  have produced some of the most prominent and influential business
   1-11  leaders in the United States, and these astute individuals
   1-12  recognize that much of their success is due to the dedication,
   1-13  enthusiasm, and hard work of their support staffs; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Secretaries and administrative assistants have
   1-15  devoted much of their time and energy to building and improving
   1-16  these businesses, and their efforts have helped to make these
   1-17  corporations leaders in their industries; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Texas and the nation have benefited greatly from the
   1-19  success of ENRON Corporation and EDS, and all those who have played
   1-20  a role in creating and supporting these outstanding businesses are
   1-21  indeed worthy of highest praise, appreciation, and recognition;
   1-22  now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-24  Legislature hereby recognize April 19-23, 1993, as Secretaries and
    2-1  Administrative Assistants Week at ENRON Corporation and EDS and
    2-2  extend warmest best wishes to all employees of these fine
    2-3  enterprises for many more years of continued success; and, be it
    2-4  further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-6  prepared for ENRON Corporation and EDS as an expression of high
    2-7  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
