No. 581 73R9148 KMP-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, It is a long-standing tradition that portraits of 1-2 house members of each legislature be displayed in composite panels 1-3 in the house chamber and that portraits of members elected at 1-4 special elections be displayed in a separate panel alongside those 1-5 of their colleagues for that legislature; and 1-6 WHEREAS, In recent years, portraits of members elected at 1-7 special elections have been inadvertently omitted from the 1-8 composite panels on display in the house gallery; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Those omitted include Representatives Erwin Barton, 1-10 Dan Downey, Al Luna, and Larry Don Shaw of the 66th Legislature; 1-11 Kenneth Armbrister and Hector Uribe of the 67th Legislature; Bill 1-12 G. Carter, Robert Earley, Orlando Garcia, Neely Lewis, Nancy 1-13 McDonald, Mike McKinney, and Russ Tidwell of the 68th Legislature; 1-14 Bob Hunter, Eugene R. Haney, Keith Oakley, and Hugh Shine of the 1-15 69th Legislature; Monte Stewart, Dick Swift, and Jeff Wentworth of 1-16 the 70th Legislature; Layton Black, Charles Hartland, Allen Place, 1-17 and Ken VanderVoort of the 71st Legislature; and Garnet Coleman, 1-18 Bernard Erickson, Patricia Gray, Peggy Hamric, Brian McCall, Tom 1-19 Ramsay, and Bob Turner of the 72nd Legislature; and 1-20 WHEREAS, The cost of labor and materials to produce the above 1-21 composites is estimated at $1,359.82, a modest sum to preserve this 1-22 long-standing house tradition; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby authorize the Committee on House Administration, 2-1 subject to the approval of the speaker, to select a suitable 2-2 individual to produce portraits of the above-named representatives, 2-3 to arrange the portraits of these members on composite panels, to 2-4 print the name and the county of residence of the member under his 2-5 or her portrait, and to frame and hang the panels in the hall of 2-6 the house; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That the expense of the composite panels be paid 2-8 from the expense fund of the house.
