                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The administration, faculty, and student body of
    1-2  White Oak High School are justifiably proud of the many bright and
    1-3  talented students who ably represented the school in this year's
    1-4  University Interscholastic League (UIL) academic competition and
    1-5  upheld the school's long-standing tradition of excellence by once
    1-6  again winning the district championship; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Accustomed to success and fully expecting to win,
    1-8  White Oak High School students scored a total of 570 points in the
    1-9  various academic contests to claim the championship, an honor the
   1-10  school has earned 27 times in the past 29 years; this extraordinary
   1-11  record reflects the remarkable commitment to excellence shared not
   1-12  only by the students and teachers at this fine school, but by the
   1-13  parents and the entire community as well; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Individual students who placed first, second, or
   1-15  third in their events, as well as teams that placed first, will
   1-16  compete for regional honors on April 24, 1993, at East Texas State
   1-17  University in Commerce; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The talent, hard work, and dedication demonstrated
   1-19  by these students are indicative of the high standards of
   1-20  achievement that have been set by their teachers and fellow
   1-21  students, and many other students undoubtedly will emulate their
   1-22  success; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, The achievements of White Oak High School
   1-24  participants in UIL competition represent a small part of an
    2-1  outstanding year for all students at White Oak High School, and the
    2-2  remarkable spirit and ability that these young people have
    2-3  displayed ensure that the future of Texas is indeed in capable
    2-4  hands; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby commend all of the UIL participants of White Oak
    2-7  High School, their teachers, and their proud parents for the
    2-8  school's remarkable showing at the district UIL contest and extend
    2-9  warmest best wishes for many more years of continued success; and,
   2-10  be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-12  prepared for White Oak High School as an expression of high regard
   2-13  by the Texas House of Representatives.
