                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Rod Chalmers, a law enforcement training officer
    1-2  with the Texas Game Warden Training Academy, recently earned the
    1-3  distinction of receiving an award for exemplary volunteer
    1-4  leadership in 4-H wildlife and fisheries programs in conjunction
    1-5  with the 58th North American Wildlife and Natural Resources
    1-6  Conference; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Recognized for his noteworthy efforts in educating
    1-8  youth in natural resource conservation, Mr. Chalmers was one of six
    1-9  exceptional candidates selected to receive the award, which is the
   1-10  most prestigious accolade bestowed on 4-H natural resources
   1-11  volunteers; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, He has enjoyed a deeply rewarding career in the
   1-13  field of natural resource protection that includes service to the
   1-14  people of Texas as a game warden for 13 years; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Chalmers
   1-16  has actively sought to impart to others his abiding interest in and
   1-17  commitment to environmental stewardship; a volunteer leader for
   1-18  eight years with the Crockett County Shooting Sports and Field and
   1-19  Stream programs, he has developed creative means to educate the
   1-20  youth of his community and in so doing has served as a positive
   1-21  role model for countless young Texans; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, In addition, he has contributed his abundant
   1-23  knowledge as an instructor of adult leader training sessions at 4-H
   1-24  Field and Stream workshops of the Texas Agricultural Extension
    2-1  Service, inspiring volunteerism and leadership in many; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, A man of unflagging energies, he ably represents the
    2-3  Texas Parks and Wildlife Department on the state planning team for
    2-4  the 4-H Field and Stream Program, where his insight and advice have
    2-5  been valuable in promoting skills and knowledge in hunting,
    2-6  fishing, and species conservation; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, Mr. Chalmers' outstanding public service was
    2-8  recognized previously when, in 1991, he was named Conservation
    2-9  Officer of the Year by the Sportsmen Conservationists of Texas in
   2-10  recognition of his noteworthy efforts in using education to achieve
   2-11  natural resource conservation goals; and
   2-12        WHEREAS, Mr. Chalmers' dedication to his community and his
   2-13  abiding commitment to natural resource stewardship have
   2-14  significantly benefitted the residents of Texas, and he is indeed
   2-15  deserving of special praise on the occasion of his most recent
   2-16  honor; now, therefore, be it
   2-17        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   2-18  Legislature hereby commend Rod Chalmers for his exceptional
   2-19  contributions to our state and congratulate him on his recognition
   2-20  by the 58th North American Wildlife and Natural Resources
   2-21  Conference as an outstanding 4-H volunteer leader; and, be it
   2-22  further
   2-23        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-24  prepared for Mr. Chalmers as an expression of high regard by the
   2-25  Texas House of Representatives.
