                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, On Christmas Day 1992, the many friends and
    1-2  relatives of Rose Janecek gathered to celebrate a significant
    1-3  milestone in the life of this beloved lady, the occasion of her
    1-4  100th birthday; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A native Texan, she began her long and fruitful life
    1-6  near the community of Nelsonville in 1892 and was one of 14
    1-7  children born to Vincent and Frances Kamenicky Shiller; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, United in marriage to Edwin J. Janecek on November
    1-9  17, 1914, they enjoyed a happy and rewarding union of 50 years
   1-10  until her husband's passing in 1964, and their marriage was blessed
   1-11  with a son and daughter, E. J. and Dolores; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, In the early years of her marriage, Mrs. Janecek
   1-13  lived on a farm and, in 1947, she moved to Bellville, where she has
   1-14  since earned the affection and friendship of many members of the
   1-15  community; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Throughout much of her life, Mrs. Janecek gave
   1-17  generously of her time and talents to serve as an active member of
   1-18  a number of worthy organizations, including SPJST Lodge 68, the
   1-19  Nelsonville Brethren Church, and the Extension Homemakers Club; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, An avid hunting and fishing enthusiast, she also
   1-21  enjoyed dancing, gardening, and yard work for many years and now
   1-22  takes great pleasure in visiting with family and friends; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Mrs. Janecek has been a source of happiness to those
   1-24  around her, and her generous and loving qualities have brightened
    2-1  the lives of her children, her two grandchildren, her four
    2-2  great-grandchildren, and countless friends; the birthday of this
    2-3  remarkable woman provides a fitting opportunity to share with her a
    2-4  small bit of the joy and hope she has imparted to all who have had
    2-5  the privilege to share her love; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-7  Legislature hereby honor Rose Janecek and extend warmest
    2-8  congratulations to this lovely lady on the occasion of her 100th
    2-9  birthday; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-11  prepared for Mrs. Janecek as an expression of high regard by the
   2-12  Texas House of Representatives.
