R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, An outstanding Texas teacher, Barbara B. Yarbrough,
1-2 recently achieved noteworthy success by being named Faculty
1-3 Representative of the Year by the Midland chapter of the Texas
1-4 Classroom Teachers Association (TCTA); and
1-5 WHEREAS, The recipient of much well-deserved recognition at
1-6 the association's state level as well, Ms. Yarbrough also has been
1-7 named the State Faculty Representative of the Year by TCTA for
1-8 1992-1993; an energetic and hardworking professional, she has
1-9 devoted countless hours to working with this esteemed organization
1-10 and providing effective representation for the thousands of
1-11 classroom teachers in our state; and
1-12 WHEREAS, A popular teacher of sixth-grade English at
1-13 Midland's South Elementary School, Ms. Yarbrough has earned the
1-14 lasting regard of colleagues, students, and the community for her
1-15 exceptional instructional skills and for her dedication to the
1-16 teaching profession; and
1-17 WHEREAS, Committed to educational excellence, this dedicated
1-18 teacher has shared her valuable insight and expertise in a number
1-19 of leadership roles for Midland schools through the years and is
1-20 currently serving on the President's Council of the Midland Chapter
1-21 of TCTA; and
1-22 WHEREAS, Throughout her distinguished career, Ms. Yarbrough
1-23 has enriched the lives of her students as a skilled and caring
1-24 teacher, and she has provided exemplary leadership to her fellow
2-1 teachers and to the entire community on a variety of important
2-2 education issues; an extraordinary educator, she is indeed
2-3 deserving of special legislative recognition on the occasion of her
2-4 most recent accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
2-6 Legislature hereby congratulate Barbara B. Yarbrough on being named
2-7 Faculty Representative of the Year by the Midland chapter of the
2-8 Texas Classroom Teachers Association and commend her for her many
2-9 outstanding contributions to the field of education in Texas; and,
2-10 be it further
2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-12 prepared for Ms. Yarbrough as an expression of high regard by the
2-13 Texas House of Representatives.
