                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  the Manchester Plant of the Rhone Poulenc Basic Chemicals Company
    1-3  in Houston for its outstanding commitment to excellence in
    1-4  education in Texas; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Each year, this fine company presents a deserving
    1-6  senior at Milby High School with an opportunity to expand his or
    1-7  her educational horizons through its sponsorship of the Milby High
    1-8  School College Scholarship; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Since its inception, the scholarship in the amount
   1-10  of $10,000 has greatly benefitted a number of outstanding students
   1-11  at Milby High School who might otherwise have been unable to
   1-12  continue their education; in addition to enabling students to
   1-13  further their studies without incurring financial obligation, the
   1-14  scholarship also has ensured that its recipients will have more
   1-15  time to devote to their studies during their pursuit of a college
   1-16  degree; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, The exceptional generosity of the Rhone Poulenc
   1-18  Basic Chemicals Company has guaranteed a brighter future for
   1-19  students who have distinguished themselves while attending Milby
   1-20  High School and the company is indeed deserving of special
   1-21  recognition for its contributions in this regard; now, therefore,
   1-22  be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-24  Legislature hereby commend Bill Colvin and the employees of the
    2-1  Manchester Plant of the Rhone Poulenc Basic Chemicals Company of
    2-2  Houston for their philanthropic efforts as the sponsor of the
    2-3  annual Milby High School College Scholarship; and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-5  prepared for the Rhone Poulenc Basic Chemicals Company of Houston
    2-6  as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
    2-7  Representatives.
