R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, On August 6, 1992, Robert A. and Ginger Long Voltman
1-2 became the proud parents of a handsome baby boy, Griffin Robert
1-3 Voltman; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Born at George Washington University Hospital in
1-5 Washington, D.C., this welcome addition to the Voltman family
1-6 weighed in at 9 pounds and 11-1/2 ounces and measured 22 inches in
1-7 length, and his size belied his place of birth and was more truly
1-8 indicative of his distinguished Texas lineage; and
1-9 WHEREAS, The accident of his birth in our nation's capital
1-10 notwithstanding, this newest member of the Voltman household should
1-11 not be denied a claim to a cherished Texas heritage because of his
1-12 parents' residence outside the state; and
1-13 WHEREAS, Griffin Robert Voltman has brought great joy and
1-14 happiness to all of his family, including his doting grandparents
1-15 Bill and Doris Long and Art and Carol Anne Voltman, and is himself
1-16 entitled to the joy and happiness that comes in being able to
1-17 proclaim oneself Texan through and through; now, therefore, be it
1-18 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
1-19 Legislature hereby officially recognize Griffin Robert Voltman as
1-20 an honorary Texan and extend congratulations to Robert A. and
1-21 Ginger Long Voltman on the birth of their son; and, be it further
1-22 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-23 prepared for Griffin Robert Voltman and his parents as
1-24 documentation of his honorary Texas citizenship and as an
2-1 expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
