                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Silsbee High School Tigers powerlifting team has
    1-2  reached the pinnacle of success in its sport, dominating the 1993
    1-3  University Interscholastic League Class 4A-5A state powerlifting
    1-4  meet to claim the overall team championship; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A demanding and difficult sport, powerlifting
    1-6  requires outstanding strength, timing, and concentration, and those
    1-7  competing must attain high levels of skill in several powerlifting
    1-8  disciplines, including the dead lift, squat, and bench lift; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Realizing the Tigers' dream of holding aloft the
   1-10  team championship trophy required selfless contributions throughout
   1-11  the year from members Jansen Douglas, Wiley Webster, Cody Bartosh,
   1-12  Mark Boleware, Doug Young, Wilson Douglas, Stanley Rhone, and John
   1-13  Delacerda; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, In addition to the team title, several Silsbee
   1-15  powerlifters also earned well-deserved individual honors, with
   1-16  Jansen Douglas, Wiley Webster, Doug Young, and Stanley Rhone
   1-17  winning in their respective weight classes; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Jansen Douglas also was named the outstanding lifter
   1-19  in the 114-165 pound weight class and outstanding deadlifter for
   1-20  Class 4A-5A, and Wiley Webster was designated outstanding lifter
   1-21  for his accomplishments in the 181 pound to superheavyweight class
   1-22  and named the championship meet's outstanding lifter; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Inspiration and expert guidance were the hallmark of
   1-24  coach Jack Lloyd, whose exceptional efforts instilled in his
    2-1  charges the discipline and determination to fulfill their quest for
    2-2  excellence, both individually and as a team; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, These outstanding young men and their coach have
    2-4  represented Silsbee High School in a manner that has brought
    2-5  tremendous pride and satisfaction to the students and faculty of
    2-6  that fine institution, and their superlative achievements in the
    2-7  sport of powerlifting have rightfully earned them special
    2-8  legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   2-10  Legislature hereby congratulate coach Jack Lloyd and the Silsbee
   2-11  High School Tigers powerlifting squad on winning the 1993 Class
   2-12  4A-5A state championship, and extend to them best wishes for
   2-13  continued success in the future; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
   2-15  for the coach and members of the team as an expression of high
   2-16  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
