No. 670 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Communities throughout the State of Texas will 1-2 proudly celebrate the Lone Star State's rich multicultural heritage 1-3 with colorful and fun-filled celebrations of the state's many 1-4 historically and culturally significant holidays; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Ranking high among these holiday celebrations are 1-6 the annual Cinco de Mayo festivities that, in communities large and 1-7 small, are often a high point in the yearly calendar of community 1-8 events; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The Fort Hood Texas Equal Employment Opportunity 1-10 Office and the Hispanic Employment Program Committee of the U.S. 1-11 Army Headquarters III Corps and Fort Hood are among the number of 1-12 neighborhood groups, businesses, and civic organizations that have 1-13 made Cinco de Mayo a major focal point for their community 1-14 activities and made it possible for people to come together in a 1-15 spirit of fun, fellowship, and cultural celebration; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The Texas Employment Opportunity Office and the 1-17 Hispanic Employment Program Committee of the U.S. Army Headquarters 1-18 III Corps and Fort Hood will commemorate Cinco de Mayo at Fort 1-19 Hood, at the Phantom Corps Main Non-Commissioned Officers Club, on 1-20 May 5, 1993, as part of this cultural celebration and recognition 1-21 of Hispanic heritage; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby commend the U.S. Army Headquarters III Corps and 2-1 Fort Hood on their efforts and strong commitment to heighten the 2-2 cultural awareness and understanding of the Mexican American 2-3 community of this state and nation; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for the members of this noteworthy organization as an 2-6 expression of high esteem by the Texas House of Representatives. 2-7 Black 2-8 Delisi 2-9 Black 2-10 Delisi
