                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the Texas House of
    1-2  Representatives honors Jack Otero on his recent appointment by
    1-3  President Clinton as deputy undersecretary of labor for
    1-4  international affairs; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Mr. Otero brings to this position unequalled
    1-6  experience and expertise in international labor issues; the founder
    1-7  and national president of the Labor Council for Latin American
    1-8  Advancement and the international vice-president of the
    1-9  Transportation-Communications International Union, this
   1-10  distinguished leader has traveled to more than 100 countries
   1-11  worldwide and maintains proficiency in four languages; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, With his exceptional qualifications and unique
   1-13  background in the field, Mr. Otero promises to bring a visionary
   1-14  perspective and dynamic presence to the United States Department of
   1-15  Labor; now, therefore, be it
   1-16        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-17  Legislature hereby congratulate Jack Otero on his appointment as
   1-18  deputy undersecretary of labor for international affairs and
   1-19  commend him for his outstanding work in the field of labor
   1-20  relations; and, be it further
   1-21        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-22  prepared for Mr. Otero as an expression of esteem by the Texas
   1-23  House of Representatives.
