                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Marcus Hickerson was named Outstanding Citizen of
    1-2  the Year by the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce at the chamber's
    1-3  annual banquet on February 26, 1993; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Waxahachie, this outstanding
    1-5  civic leader exhibited his remarkable business acumen at an early
    1-6  age, becoming the youngest president in the history of an American
    1-7  Stock Exchange company; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Mr. Hickerson's many civic and community activities
    1-9  include serving as president of the Waxahachie Independent School
   1-10  District, as chairman of the Ellis County Planning and Zoning
   1-11  Commission, as a member of the Ellis County Water Improvement
   1-12  District No. 3, and as president of the Waxahachie Foundation; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, The committee assembled to determine the recipient
   1-14  of this year's Outstanding Citizen of the Year award was composed
   1-15  of past honorees, and their selection of this exemplary gentleman
   1-16  is indicative of the respect and esteem given Mr. Hickerson by the
   1-17  entire community; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, This exceptional individual has tirelessly devoted
   1-19  his energies to the betterment of his community as an entrepreneur
   1-20  and civic leader, and it is indeed appropriate that he be given
   1-21  special legislative recognition on his most recent achievement;
   1-22  now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-24  Legislature hereby honor Marcus Hickerson on being designated
    2-1  Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the Waxahachie Chamber of
    2-2  Commerce and extend to him best wishes for continued success in the
    2-3  future; and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-5  prepared for Mr. Hickerson as an expression of high regard by the
    2-6  Texas House of Representatives.
