                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great
    1-2  pleasure in honoring Charles H. Love, former president and
    1-3  treasurer of the Good Street Baptist Church Credit Union, for his
    1-4  outstanding contributions to his nation, state, and community; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Known for his diligence and dedication to
    1-6  excellence, Mr. Love attended Texas College before answering his
    1-7  nation's call to arms during World War II; serving with the
    1-8  military from August 1942 to December 1945, this patriotic American
    1-9  spent 27 months on duty in the South Pacific; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, On his return to civilian life in 1946, Mr. Love
   1-11  attended the South West School of Business Administration and the
   1-12  Bishop College Center; in 1952, this exceptional individual gained
   1-13  employment with Texas Instruments, while serving for a number of
   1-14  years as a volunteer at the church credit union before his
   1-15  retirement in 1982; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A member of the community of faith at the Good
   1-17  Street Baptist Church since 1946, Mr. Love has worked tirelessly to
   1-18  provide outstanding financial services to the clients of the
   1-19  church's credit union for more than three decades; the secretary of
   1-20  the board of directors for four years, Mr. Love served as president
   1-21  of the credit union from 1967 to 1978 and as treasurer and manager
   1-22  from 1978 to 1993, and during his distinguished tenure the
   1-23  institution's assets have grown from only $10,000 to more than $1
   1-24  million; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Under this exemplary Texan's guidance, the officers,
    2-2  directors, committee members, and volunteers at the credit union
    2-3  have had tremendous success in promoting thrift and the wise use of
    2-4  credit by its clients; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, This fine man enjoys a happy and rewarding marriage
    2-6  with his wife, Inez Love, and takes great pride in the
    2-7  accomplishments of his three children; and
    2-8        WHEREAS, Respected and admired by all those who have had the
    2-9  pleasure of working with him, Mr. Love has helped the members of
   2-10  the Good Street Baptist Church Credit Union achieve financial
   2-11  stability and prosperity for 31 years, and his many accomplishments
   2-12  are indeed worthy of special legislative recognition; now,
   2-13  therefore, be it
   2-14        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   2-15  Legislature hereby commend Charles H. Love for his many years of
   2-16  devoted service to the members of the Good Street Baptist Church
   2-17  Credit Union and extend to him warmest best wishes for happiness
   2-18  and success in his future endeavors; and, be it further
   2-19        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-20  prepared for Mr. Love as an expression of high esteem by the Texas
   2-21  House of Representatives.
