                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Gene S. Blessing of Fort Worth, whose hard work as the publisher of
    1-3  four local newspapers has earned her much-deserved success and a
    1-4  listing in the 1993-94 edition of Who's Who in the South and
    1-5  Southwest; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, A native of Littlefield, this exceptional Texan
    1-7  gained her initial experience in publishing during her three years
    1-8  as a high school yearbook staff member; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, After graduation, she moved to Fort Worth, worked
   1-10  briefly with local newspapers she was later to own, and then
   1-11  accepted a position as the catalog production manager of a
   1-12  nationwide pet supply company; Ms. Blessing, who is a gifted
   1-13  commercial artist and printer in her own right, also independently
   1-14  commissioned and produced original paintings and sketches through
   1-15  her own company during this period; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, For the past 12 years, she has operated B&B
   1-17  Publishing, Inc., which publishes the Everman Times, Forest Hill
   1-18  News, Kennedale News, and South County News and does commercial web
   1-19  printing for other publications; the four newspapers, which focus
   1-20  on local news and issues, have a combined weekly circulation of
   1-21  15,000 copies; and
   1-22        WHEREAS,  In addition to Ms. Blessing's recent listing in the
   1-23  23rd edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest, she has been
   1-24  twice featured in the Fort Worth Business Press under "Who's Who in
    2-1  Manufacturing," and her exemplary record of achievement is indeed
    2-2  deserving of special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-4  Legislature hereby congratulate Gene S. Blessing on her listing in
    2-5  the 1993-94 edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest and
    2-6  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
    2-7  happiness in the future; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-9  prepared for Ms. Blessing as an expression of high regard by the
   2-10  Texas House of Representatives.
