                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, At a traditional Eagle Scout Court of Honor on May
    1-2  20, 1993, Christopher Brann of Scout Troop 113 will take his place
    1-3  among scouting's elite when he is awarded the coveted silver eagle
    1-4  badge signifying his elevation to the rank of Eagle Scout; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The requirements to become an Eagle Scout are
    1-6  difficult and are met by only a select few of the many who join the
    1-7  scouting movement; by successfully fulfilling those requirements
    1-8  Christopher Brann has achieved a truly remarkable feat and has
    1-9  proven himself worthy of wearing this prestigious silver eagle
   1-10  badge emblematic of the highest honor in scouting; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors since joining Scout Troop
   1-12  113, this exceptional young man not only has demonstrated
   1-13  outstanding dedication to the high ideals of scouting but also has
   1-14  exhibited the superior leadership ability, perseverance in the
   1-15  pursuit of his goals, and selfless spirit of community involvement
   1-16  that are the hallmark of every Eagle Scout; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, He has been a valuable member of the troop and has
   1-18  served his fellow scouts as scribe, assistant patrol leader, and
   1-19  quartermaster; he also has been an enthusiastic participant in many
   1-20  of the troop's community service activities and particularly
   1-21  distinguished himself as an Eagle Scout candidate by undertaking
   1-22  and successfully completing a service project that will provide a
   1-23  lasting benefit to the community; and
   1-24        WHEREAS, His record of achievement in scouting is matched by
    2-1  the equally impressive list of honors and awards he has won in
    2-2  school and in the community, where he has applied the habits and
    2-3  values developed through his many years of participating in the Boy
    2-4  Scouts of America; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, Enrolled in the program for gifted and talented
    2-6  students at B. L. Gray Junior High School, this accomplished young
    2-7  man has shown remarkable proficiency in a wide array of activities
    2-8  inside and outside the classroom; he is a member of the student
    2-9  council and an all-around athlete on the school's football,
   2-10  basketball, baseball, and track teams, and he has ably represented
   2-11  the school in University Interscholastic League (UIL) drama
   2-12  competitions; and
   2-13        WHEREAS, Among the many honors he has garnered are a computer
   2-14  literacy Student of the Year award, a first-place finish in 4-H
   2-15  .22-caliber shooting, a first place in UIL modern oratory
   2-16  competition, and two district championships in free throw
   2-17  competition; and
   2-18        WHEREAS, Exemplifying scouting's highest ideals and pursuing
   2-19  excellence in all of his endeavors, Eagle Scout Brann has been a
   2-20  source of great pride to his parents, Dr. Tim and Betty Brann, and
   2-21  an inspiration to his fellow scouts in Troop 113, and his
   2-22  achievements in scouting have rightfully earned him the highest
   2-23  praise and recognition; now, therefore, be it
   2-24        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   2-25  Legislature hereby congratulate Christopher Brann on his noteworthy
   2-26  accomplishment in attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and earning the
   2-27  right to wear the silver insignia symbolic of his supreme
    3-1  achievement as a member of the Boy Scouts of America; and, be it
    3-2  further
    3-3        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    3-4  prepared for Eagle Scout Brann as an expression of high esteem by
    3-5  the Texas House of Representatives.
