                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Conrado D. Carrasco,
    1-2  an esteemed citizen of Pearsall, were deeply saddened by his
    1-3  passing on March 6, 1993, at the age of 68; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Born in Moore, Texas, on January 20, 1925, this
    1-5  patriotic Texan joined the United States Army while still in his
    1-6  teens; as Private First Class Carrasco of Company B, 10th Engineer
    1-7  Combat Battalion, Third Infantry Division, he served with
    1-8  distinction in Italy, France, and Germany, earning the Bronze Star
    1-9  for valorous conduct in an action against the enemy two days after
   1-10  his 20th birthday; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, After World War II, he returned to Texas, married
   1-12  the former Maria Taffolla on Christmas Day 1946, and settled in
   1-13  Pearsall with his new bride; together, they became the proud and
   1-14  loving parents of seven fine children, each of whom greatly
   1-15  benefitted from the wisdom and guidance of their loving father; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A man with firm ties to his family and community,
   1-17  Mr. Carrasco was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary
   1-18  Catholic Church, Claudio Gonzalez Post #9195 of the Veterans of
   1-19  Foreign Wars, and the Bill Brandt Chapter of Disabled American
   1-20  Veterans; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, In his youth, Conrado Carrasco displayed exceptional
   1-22  courage and valor in the pursuit of his duties as a member of the
   1-23  armed forces; throughout the years, he continued to bring to each
   1-24  and every aspect of his life a commitment to others that earned him
    2-1  the friendship and lasting regard of the members of his community,
    2-2  and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him; now, therefore,
    2-3  be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-5  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Conrado D. Carrasco
    2-6  and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family:  to his
    2-7  wife, Maria Taffolla Carrasco; to his children, Conrado
    2-8  D. Carrasco, Jr., Teresa Obregon, Margie Carrasco, Eduardo
    2-9  T. Carrasco, John Patrick Carrasco, and Elva C. Trevino; and to the
   2-10  many other friends and relatives of this fine man; and, be it
   2-11  further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-13  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
   2-14  House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
   2-15  Conrado D. Carrasco.
