                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Dr. Dale Gaskill recently retired from his position
    1-2  as superintendent of schools for the Birdville Independent School
    1-3  District, thus bringing to a close an illustrious 32-year career
    1-4  with the Birdville ISD; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A graduate of East Texas State University,
    1-6  Mr. Gaskill began his career as an industrial arts teacher with
    1-7  Birdville in 1961; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, While ably fulfilling his duties as a classroom
    1-9  instructor and later as a school administrator, he furthered his
   1-10  education by earning a master's degree in education and a doctorate
   1-11  in education from the University of North Texas; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, He has served in the district as a teacher,
   1-13  counselor, assistant principal, junior high principal, assistant
   1-14  superintendent for instruction, and deputy superintendent; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, This outstanding educator believed strongly in the
   1-16  youth of his community, and he did not confine this commitment to
   1-17  the school environment; Mr. Gaskill has dedicated countless hours
   1-18  of service to civic and charitable organizations, and this
   1-19  dedication has earned him the admiration and respect of his
   1-20  colleagues and fellow citizens; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, He is a director of the Northeast Tarrant County
   1-22  Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Executive Committee of the
   1-23  Regional Advisory Committee, Education Service Center, Region XI;
    2-1  and
    2-2        WHEREAS, Mr. Gaskill holds honorary life memberships in both
    2-3  the Texas PTA and the National PTA, and his professional
    2-4  affiliations include the Texas Association of School
    2-5  Administrators, the American Association of School Administrators,
    2-6  and the National Education Association; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, Mr. Gaskill has dedicated most of his life to the
    2-8  education and enrichment of countless young Texans, and in his
    2-9  efforts he has reached beyond the classroom environment and into
   2-10  the community; through his actions, he has proved himself to be a
   2-11  worthy role model for the young people whose lives he has shaped,
   2-12  and in doing this he has exemplified the very finest ideals of his
   2-13  profession; now, therefore, be it
   2-14        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   2-15  Legislature hereby honor Dale Gaskill for his 32 years of service
   2-16  to the students, faculty, and parents of the Birdville Independent
   2-17  School District and extend warmest best wishes for continued
   2-18  success and happiness in the future; and, be it further
   2-19        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-20  prepared for Mr. Gaskill as an expression of high regard by the
   2-21  Texas House of Representatives.
