H.R. No. 795 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Trinidad and Frances Reyes Mendieta have shared 50 1-2 joyous years together as partners in life, and their marriage 1-3 stands today as an eloquent testimony to the power of love in an 1-4 enduring relationship between husband and wife; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Both natives of Bastrop County, the happy couple 1-6 were united in matrimony by a justice of the peace on November 14, 1-7 1942, and on March 14, 1943, they renewed their wedding vows in a 1-8 traditional Catholic ceremony; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Over the years, through hard work and steadfast 1-10 determination, this inspiring couple has labored faithfully to 1-11 provide for the needs of their growing family; Mrs. Mendieta worked 1-12 as a seamstress for a time and as an employee of State Superior 1-13 University, while Mr. Mendieta devoted his time and energy to 1-14 farming, carpentry, and trucking, an occupation he pursued for 24 1-15 years; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Devout in their spiritual beliefs, Mr. and 1-17 Mrs. Mendieta have been faithful members of the Rosary Crusade for 1-18 14 years, attending regular prayer meetings and singing in the 1-19 church choir; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Mendieta take great pride in the 1-21 achievements of their children, Eugene Peter Mendieta, Mary Alice 1-22 Mendoza, Zeke Mendieta, Gloria Ann Mendieta, Janie Mendieta 1-23 Whitehead, and Edward Mendieta, and, in recent years, their family 1-24 has grown to include 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; 2-1 and 2-2 WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Mendieta have 2-3 shared a strong and lasting marriage filled with happiness and 2-4 cherished family memories; built on a foundation of mutual love, 2-5 trust, and support, their union has been a source of joy and 2-6 inspiration to the many friends and relatives of this fortunate 2-7 couple; now, therefore, be it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 2-9 Legislature hereby congratulate Trinidad and Frances Reyes Mendieta 2-10 on the momentous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and 2-11 extend warmest best wishes to this fine couple for continued 2-12 happiness in the years to come; and, be it further 2-13 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-14 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Mendieta as an expression of high regard 2-15 by the Texas House of Representatives. 2-16 by the Texas House of Representatives. 2-17 Delco 2-18 H.R.
