                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Rollins Environmental Services (TX), Incorporated,
    1-2  has offered to assist the State of Texas in the disposal of
    1-3  hazardous chemical waste and other contaminated materials seized by
    1-4  law enforcement offices in clandestine drug laboratories; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Proper disposal of such waste and related contraband
    1-6  can prove to be very costly, and the assistance to law enforcement
    1-7  provided by Rollins Environmental Services will save the citizens
    1-8  of Texas thousands of tax dollars; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Local law enforcement and the various narcotics task
   1-10  forces have been without the funds necessary to package, store,
   1-11  transport, or dispose of hazardous waste when a seizure is made;
   1-12  and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Rollins Environmental Services was sympathetic to
   1-14  the problem presented to it, and the company generously offered to
   1-15  package, transport, and dispose of the materials at no cost to the
   1-16  state or to local law enforcement; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Rollins Environmental Services has an excellent
   1-18  record with the Environmental Protection Agency and is playing a
   1-19  significant role in the capacity assurance plan with the Texas
   1-20  Water Commission in disposing of hazardous waste in our state; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, The program outlined by Rollins Environmental
   1-22  Services provides for a one-time clean-out of backlogged inventory,
   1-23  continuous incineration/disposal services, and continuous waste
   1-24  management consultation assistance in the safe and proper handling,
    2-1  consolidation, storage, and disposal of waste materials; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, Rollins Environmental Services has unique
    2-3  capabilities and is performing these services as a public service
    2-4  to the State of Texas; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, The importance of the safe handling of chemical and
    2-6  hazardous waste is vital to the safety and well-being of all the
    2-7  citizens of Texas; now, therefore, be it
    2-8        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-9  Legislature hereby commend the officers and employees of this
   2-10  exceptional company and express its heartfelt appreciation to
   2-11  Rollins Environmental Services (TX), Incorporated, for its
   2-12  magnificent contribution to ensuring the protection and safety of
   2-13  all Texans; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-15  prepared for the distinguished company as a token of the admiration
   2-16  of the Texas House of Representatives.
