H.R. No. 829
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State
    1-2  of Texas, That Rule 13, Section 9(a), Rules of the House of
    1-3  Representatives, 73rd Legislature, is suspended, as provided by
    1-4  House Rule 13, Section 9(f), to the extent described in this
    1-5  resolution, to enable the conference committee appointed to adjust
    1-6  the differences between the house and senate versions of S.B. 642,
    1-7  relating to the creation of the Council on Workforce and Economic
    1-8  Competitiveness, the creation of local workforce development
    1-9  boards, and the development of an integrated state and local
   1-10  program delivery system serving all Texans, to successfully
   1-11  conclude the committee's deliberations, by authorizing the
   1-12  conferees to consider and take action on the following specific
   1-13  matter:
   1-14        House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(1) is suspended to permit the
   1-15  committee to change 8.01(b) of the bill to read as follows:
   1-16        (b)  The Council on Workforce and Economic Competitiveness
   1-17  shall be appointed and operational not later than September 1,
   1-18  1993.
   1-19        Explanation:  This change is needed to provide for a more
   1-20  effective transition in establishing the Council on Workforce and
   1-21  Economic Competitiveness.
