No. 857 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Virginia Morrison Thompson, who is retiring this year after a 1-3 distinguished career as a teacher with the Pearsall Independent 1-4 School District, drawing to a close an exemplary career in 1-5 education that has spanned nearly two decades; and 1-6 WHEREAS, An outstanding mathematics teacher for the district, 1-7 Mrs. Thompson has helped to guide generations of students through 1-8 the fundamentals of arithmetic; over the course of her fine tenure, 1-9 she has shown consistent devotion to her students, offering extra 1-10 assistance when needed and taking special pride in the 1-11 accomplishments of each child; and 1-12 WHEREAS, With her rare talent for teaching, Mrs. Thompson has 1-13 touched the lives of a great many people and her extraordinary 1-14 contributions to the schoolchildren of Texas indeed merit our 1-15 highest praise and recognition; now, therefore, be it 1-16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 1-17 Legislature hereby honor Virginia Morrison Thompson on her 19 years 1-18 of exceptional service as an educator with the Pearsall Independent 1-19 School District and extend warmest best wishes to her for a happy 1-20 and productive retirement; and, be it further 1-21 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-22 prepared for Mrs. Thompson as an expression of high regard by the 1-23 Texas House of Representatives. 1-24 Nieto 2-1 H.R.
