H.R. No. 860
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Doctors' Services Foundation, Inc., which has made an outstanding
    1-3  contribution to the community with its establishment and operation
    1-4  of the Community Clinic in Houston; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Founded by Dr. H.  Murphy Webb in 1981, the
    1-6  Community Clinic was created to provide high-quality medical care
    1-7  in a family-practice setting to individuals regardless of their
    1-8  ability to pay and to serve as a primary-care training program for
    1-9  graduate physicians and third- and fourth-year medical students;
   1-10  and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Supported solely by private donations and staffed
   1-12  entirely by volunteers, the Community Clinic has received more than
   1-13  68,000 patient visits and provided training to 288 graduate
   1-14  physicians and students in its 12 years of operation; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The success of this fine clinic is due in great part
   1-16  to its dedicated staff and board of directors, including Dr. Webb,
   1-17  who serves as its president; Dr. Jack Leach, the organization's
   1-18  vice president; and Dr. Avrum Stein, the foundation's
   1-19  secretary-treasurer; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Through the generosity of its supporters and the
   1-21  sheer hard work of its staff, Doctors' Services Foundation, Inc.,
   1-22  has contributed immeasureably to the betterment of the Houston
   1-23  community; the organization's exceptional record of achievement is
   1-24  an inspiration to all Texans and truly deserving of special
    2-1  recognition and praise; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
    2-3  Legislature hereby commend Doctors' Services Foundation, Inc., and
    2-4  Dr. H.  Murphy Webb for exemplary community service and extend to
    2-5  the organization's directors and staff sincere best wishes for
    2-6  continued success in the future; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
    2-8  for Doctors' Services Foundation, Inc., and Dr. Webb as an
    2-9  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
