                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Blinn College track and field team has again
    1-2  attained the pinnacle of success, continuing a long-standing
    1-3  tradition of excellence by winning the 1993 National Junior College
    1-4  Track and Field team titles; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Consistently superlative performances have been the
    1-6  hallmark of the Blinn College Buccaneers, and 1993 marks the
    1-7  seventh consecutive year in which this school's phenomenal athletes
    1-8  have earned both the national indoor and the national outdoor
    1-9  championships; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Coach Steve Silvey has achieved an unparalleled
   1-11  level of success by leading his charges to 12 of their 14 national
   1-12  championships, and his tireless efforts have been the driving force
   1-13  behind this track and field dynasty; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The members of the Blinn College track and field
   1-15  team have shown exemplary dedication and diligence in attaining
   1-16  this goal, excelling in the myriad disciplines that constitute the
   1-17  sport of track and field and bringing honor to themselves, their
   1-18  school, their community, and the State of Texas, and their
   1-19  extraordinary accomplishments indeed merit special legislative
   1-20  recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby congratulate coach Steve Silvey and the Blinn
   1-23  College track and field team on winning the 1993 indoor and outdoor
   1-24  national championships for the seventh consecutive year and extend
    2-1  to them sincere best wishes for continued success in the future;
    2-2  and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
    2-4  for the team and its coaches and staff as an expression of high
    2-5  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
