H.R. No. 878
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Varying cultures and ethnic groups comprise and
    1-2  contribute to the complex social, civic, and cultural fiber that is
    1-3  so unique to this great state, and among those groups is the
    1-4  Hispanic community in the State of Texas; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)
    1-6  has been, since the early part of this century, one of the foremost
    1-7  Hispanic organizations promoting the awareness of the Hispanic
    1-8  culture and has been among the leading groups active in the pursuit
    1-9  of political and educational equality in this state; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, LULAC has been a strong force in the betterment of
   1-11  the lives of all Hispanics in all of the United States of America,
   1-12  and the Texas chapter is present and meeting today in the city of
   1-13  Fort Worth on this the 28th day of May to discuss the issues and
   1-14  continue the work for which it is noted within the Hispanic
   1-15  community; now, therefore, be it
   1-16        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-17  Legislature hereby honor and commend the Texas chapter of LULAC on
   1-18  the occasion of their annual convention for their long-standing
   1-19  commitment to the quality of life in the Hispanic community of this
   1-20  state; and, be it further
   1-21        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-22  prepared as an expression of high esteem by the Texas House of
   1-23  Representatives.
