                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Filton and Milton Boudreaux of LaBelle, Texas, have
    1-2  long played an active role in making their community a better place
    1-3  in which to work and live; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Born to O. J. and Celestine Boudreaux on July 26,
    1-5  1933, in Port Acres, the twin brothers moved with their family to
    1-6  LaBelle in 1935 and were graduated from the Fannett School in 1950;
    1-7  and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Continuing their education, they attended Lamar
    1-9  Junior College and taught briefly at the Fannett School before
   1-10  their induction into the army; after two years of distinguished
   1-11  military service, the brothers returned to teaching while pursuing
   1-12  additional studies at Stephen F. Austin College every summer; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Each of the Boudreaux brothers is highly regarded by
   1-14  the citizens of the Hamshire-Fannett community for his extensive
   1-15  volunteer activities; Filton Boudreaux has served as the campus
   1-16  coordinator for UIL events for many years, is a lifetime member of
   1-17  the Parent Teacher Association, and has been involved with the
   1-18  National Junior Honor Society for three decades; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Over the years, he has been the recipient of
   1-20  numerous accolades as a result of his outstanding service,
   1-21  including the People Helping People Award and the Beta Sigma
   1-22  Phi--XIXI Nu 1980 Outstanding Service to Our Community Award; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, His brother, Milton Boudreaux, also has given
   1-24  generously of his time and expertise to serve as the campus sponsor
    2-1  for UIL contests in the areas of prose and poetry, life science,
    2-2  and one-act play competition and was named best director in one-act
    2-3  play for 1992; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, The school's student council sponsor since 1963, he
    2-5  has been involved in a host of worthwhile activities throughout the
    2-6  district, is a lector and eucharistic minister at the Little Flower
    2-7  Catholic Church, where he attends services with his brother, and
    2-8  has taught religious education classes and worked with the Catholic
    2-9  Youth Organization at St. Mary's Catholic Church in the community;
   2-10  and
   2-11        WHEREAS, Also honored as a recipient of the People Helping
   2-12  People Award and the Beta Sigma Phi--XIXI Nu 1980 Outstanding
   2-13  Service to Our Community Award, Milton Boudreaux has been
   2-14  recognized with the Pro Deo Et Juventute award as well for his work
   2-15  with area youth; and
   2-16        WHEREAS, Together, these dynamic educators coordinate such
   2-17  popular campus events as the First Day of School Program, the
   2-18  Christmas party and dance, and the eighth grade luncheon and
   2-19  commencement exercises each year; and
   2-20        WHEREAS, In all aspects of their lives, Filton and Milton
   2-21  Boudreaux have demonstrated exemplary commitment to others, and
   2-22  their efforts have greatly enhanced the lives of countless Texas
   2-23  schoolchildren; they are indeed deserving of our highest
   2-24  recognition and praise for their continuing contributions in this
   2-25  regard; now, therefore, be it
   2-26        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   2-27  Legislature hereby commend Filton and Milton Boudreaux for the many
    3-1  significant contributions they have made to the betterment of the
    3-2  Hamshire-Fannett community and extend to them sincere best wishes
    3-3  for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
    3-4        RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
    3-5  for Filton and Milton Boudreaux as an expression of high regard by
    3-6  the Texas House of Representatives.
