H.R. No. 899
                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Mario Casarez is a member of the Dallas-area
    1-2  metroplex and has served as an example of civic and community
    1-3  leadership; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Mr. Casarez has endeavored to be an example to the
    1-5  Hispanic community through his active participation in civic
    1-6  activities affecting the future of the city of Dallas; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, The accomplishments of Mr. Casarez include being
    1-8  president of the CAUSA chapter of the Mexican American Democrats
    1-9  (CAUSA MAD), volunteering for the Southwest Voter Registration
   1-10  Education Project (SVREP), being a member of the State Democratic
   1-11  Executive Committee of the 12th Senatorial District, and
   1-12  participating in various political campaigns in the Cockrell Hill
   1-13  area of Dallas; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Mr. Casarez has received commendations for his
   1-15  dedication to the well-being of his local community, such as the
   1-16  Zapata award from CAUSA MAD for community involvement and the
   1-17  Willie Velasquez award for voter registration; now, therefore, be
   1-18  it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas
   1-20  Legislature hereby commend Mario Casarez for his exemplary civic
   1-21  participation in the Dallas-area metroplex; and, be it further
   1-22        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   1-23  prepared as an expression of high esteem by the Texas House of
    2-1  Representatives.
