H.R. No. 900 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Merle Franklyn on her exemplary record of service to the 1-3 legislative community as an aide to State Representative Ron 1-4 Wilson; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The business of state government during a 1-6 legislative session is a difficult, demanding, and time-consuming 1-7 endeavor that means long hours and requires extraordinary patience 1-8 not only from those directly engaged in lawmaking, but also from 1-9 those dedicated staff members who work tirelessly in vital support 1-10 roles behind the scenes; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Giving generously of her time and energy as a member 1-12 of Representative Wilson's staff for the past seven years, 1-13 Ms. Franklyn has distinguished herself by the poised and competent 1-14 manner in which she has handled her responsibilities; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Her devotion and exceptional diligence in this 1-16 regard have enabled Representative Wilson to attend to matters 1-17 before this chamber, free of the distraction that a daily office 1-18 routine can cause and confident in the assistance provided by this 1-19 trusted professional; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Ms. Franklyn has gained the respect and admiration 1-21 of her colleagues in the legislative community, and she now is 1-22 looking forward to new opportunities and other challenges as she 1-23 prepares to move on into the corporate world of Atlanta; and 1-24 WHEREAS, Although the best wishes for a happy and bright 2-1 future she receives from Representative Wilson and the other 2-2 members of his staff are tinged with sadness at her departure, she 2-3 leaves knowing that she has made lasting friendships and that she 2-4 has contributed greatly to the achievements of this legislative 2-5 body; now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 73rd Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby commend Merle Franklyn on her outstanding record 2-8 of service to our colleague, the Honorable Ron Wilson, and to the 2-9 Texas Legislature and extend to her best wishes for continued 2-10 success in all of her future endeavors; and, be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for Ms. Franklyn as an expression of high esteem by the 2-13 Texas House of Representatives. 2-14 Texas House of Representatives. 2-15 Wilson 2-16 H.R.
