  3-1                          COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO. 1
  3-2           Amend Subsection 161.0211(b) of SB 90 by deleting the
  3-3     language after the word "harmful" (page 1, line 14) and inserting
  3-4     the following words:
  3-5     to the public health.  Any findings or determinations from such
  3-6     investigations that relate to environmental exposures believed to
  3-7     be harmful to the public shall be reported in writing to the Texas
  3-8     Natural Resource Conservation Commission and the two agencies shall
  3-9     coordinate corrective measures as appropriate.  The Department
 3-10     shall use generally accepted methods of epidemiology or toxicology
 3-11     in the conduct of an investigation.

 3-14           Amend Subsection 161.0213 of SB 90 by inserting after the
 3-15     word "designee" (on page 2, line 6) the following words:
 3-16     or the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission

 3-19           Amend Subsection 161.0213 of SB 90 by inserting the following
 3-20     words after the word "investigation" (page 1, line 7):
 3-21     of human illnesses or conditions and of environmental exposures
 3-22     that are harmful or believed to be harmful to the public health.
