                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the use of revenue from the cigarette tax by  the Parks
    1-3  and Wildlife Department.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 154.603(c), Tax Code, is amended to read
    1-6  as follows:
    1-7        (c)  Of the money allocated under Subsection (b)(1), the
    1-8  <The> Parks and Wildlife Department may use not more than 50
    1-9  percent <the money allocated under Subsection (b)(1) of this
   1-10  section> to plan, develop, and acquire<, maintain, and operate>
   1-11  state parks and historic sites and not more than 50 percent<.  The
   1-12  department may not use more than 25 percent of the revenue credited
   1-13  to the state parks fund under Subsection (b)(1)> to operate and
   1-14  maintain state parks and historic sites.
   1-15        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1993.
   1-16        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-17  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-18  emergency   and   an   imperative   public   necessity   that   the
   1-19  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-20  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
